The printed Braintree V. R. give her as Ruth Ball, but in the original record it reads Ruth Bass. Ruth is not included in the list of Deac. Samuel's children, but is proved to be, quite conclusively -- First, because at that early date there seems to be no Basses in Braintree or the vicinity, except the family of Deac. Samuel. Secondly, both Deac. Samuel and his son Joseph leave bequests to Hannah Walsbee. Third, because in 1694, Deac. Samuel, Roger Billings and David Walsbee, give a Silver Communion Cup to Church. David Walsbee, Walsbie, or Walsby, was married 1st to Hannah Manning who died 9 Feb. 1655 and he married Ruth Bass in 1656.
